All about the Full Moon in Aries

Tomorrow, October 7th is the Full Moon in Aries. With the intensity of the Lunar and Astrological events last month, that may seem intimidating, but I promise it won’t be nearly as intense! However, it is still an Aries Full Moon which means we are taking account of how and where we spend our energy and deciding where we need to burn things down so we can start fresh. So let’s talk about some practices and rituals that you can do to help make best use of this energy.
When you are looking at a Full moon’s energy, it’s important to understand the astrological season you are in and the energies that are present. When we look at the energy of Libra and Aries, we see the dichotomy of community and self. Libra connects us to one another, it is the sign that brings people together as friends and lovers. It is also the sign of justice, balance, and harmony. This season brings our focus to the balance within those relationships and in particular what feels out of balance regarding our energy. With the full moon, Aries comes in (as the complement of Libra) and prompts us to look at where our personal energy is being spent, and if we’re happy with the way we’re spending it. Does the effort put into our relationships, our work, our obligations, and even ourselves feel balanced and sustainable?
Balance doesn’t always mean 50/50, in fact it rarely does. But knowing what you are giving and receiving in all of those sectors of your life, and being able to decide where you need to give more, pull back, or stop completely is crucial. What things have you said yes to, purely out of obligation? What things are breeding resentment in your life and how can you confront that? Where did you bend backward to people please and in turn created relationships that feel one sided and centered on devotion to others through sacrificing yourself? It’s easy to fall into these patterns, which is why the universe gives us these hard reset times to bring things back into equilibrium. I think it’s also important to examine where you are not contributing in these relationships as well. What can you do to show up and be more present?
So what can you do about this energy? I always love to recommend a venting session. This can be through writing in a journal, talking out loud in your car or into your voice recorder on your phone to verbally process, bringing it to a therapist, or even talking to a friend.
Here are some prompts to specifically analyze:
Where have you stretched yourself beyond reason?
What obligations are creating resentment in your life?
What can you burn down or release during this period that would help your life begin to feel more balanced?
How are you currently balancing community vs yourself? What are ways in which you can be a better member of your community? What are ways you can ask for help from your community?
Once you have a scope of what it is that needs to shift in your life, spend time creating a list of ways you can change things. Have the hard conversations, step back from what you need to, and step forward to do the things you haven’t been doing. This beautiful, fiery moon will help you take care of the energy needed to move forward and give you the inspiration to make the change actually happen.
