Mental Health, Energy, and the Rituals That Bring Us Back to Ourselves

These past few months have been a real challenge for Grace and myself, so I figured I’d share some ways that have helped us get through! I think there are so many times in the spiritual world where you can feel like when you get sick or are having a bad day mentally, you tend to blame yourself for feeling that way. That is not helpful at all! Mental health isn’t just about managing stress or pushing through difficult days. It’s about learning how to care for your mind, your body, and your energy.Â
So many of us move through life constantly pouring from our own cup—into work, relationships, and responsibilities. Eventually, we begin to feel drained, anxious, disconnected, or overwhelmed.
Those feelings aren’t weaknesses.
They’re signals.
Your mind, body, and spirit are asking you to slow down and reconnect.
Healing doesn’t always come from doing more, I have to keep reminding myself of this! Sometimes it begins with creating small rituals that bring you back to yourself.
Your Energy Matters
Everything in the universe carries energy—including us.
When we experience stress, burnout, or emotional pain, that energy can feel heavy or blocked. You might notice it as tension in your body, racing thoughts, or the sense that you’re stuck in survival mode.
Spiritual wellness practices can be a really helpful tool to help you through these times.Â
There are so many different ways you can do this, but I’ll share some ways that have helped me!
Grounding through meditation or breath work - there are great videos online otherwise classes are such a good way to feel in community with others!
Journaling your thoughts and emotions - I have multiple journals, in different places in my house, so no matter where I am, I have somewhere to write.
Spending time in nature - sometimes just stepping outside and taking a deep breath in can just shift how I’m feeling in the day.
Practicing gratitude - I have found that during really difficult times, I try to find even a small thing that I am grateful for, to shift my mind. It can even be as simple as, I’m grateful for waking up today.
Movement can help shift stuck energy. Go for a walk, do some are swings, jump around, anytime to get the energy moving.
Working with crystals - this is an obvious one for me, even just picking up a crystal and holding it helps me shift what and how I’m thinking!
These practices aren’t about escaping your emotions. They’re about creating space to process and heal them.
Crystal Energy and Emotional Support for Mental Health
Crystals have been used for centuries as tools for grounding, clarity, and emotional balance. While they aren’t a replacement for therapy or professional care, many people find them powerful companions during their mental health journey.
Here are a few crystals that support emotional wellbeing:
Amethyst: Often associated with calm and spiritual clarity, amethyst can help quiet an overactive mind and support restful sleep. I always have an amethyst by my bed!
Rose Quartz: The stone of unconditional love. Rose quartz reminds us to offer compassion not just to others, but to ourselves.
Black Tourmaline: A great grounding stone that helps create energetic boundaries and absorb negative energy—especially helpful when you’re feeling overwhelmed or emotionally drained.
Clear Quartz: Known as an energy amplifier, clear quartz can help strengthen your intentions and bring mental clarity.
Working with crystals can be as simple as holding one during meditation, keeping one near your bed, putting one on in the morning or setting an intention with it each morning.
Sometimes the ritual itself is the healing.
Rituals for Mental Clarity
When life feels chaotic, rituals help anchor us.
Unlike routines, rituals are intentional. They remind us to slow down, breathe, and reconnect.
Some simple ways to add a little ritual into your day:
Light a candle or incense.
Hold a crystal that you're drawn to.
Take a few deep breaths to ground yourself.
Journal your thoughts or set an intention for the day.
Put on an oil, spray or perfume.
Use sound healing or sound vibrations.
Even five minutes of intentional stillness can shift your energy. Over time, these small moments become powerful acts of self-care.
Self-Compassion Is a Spiritual Practice
One of the most overlooked parts of mental health is the way we speak to ourselves.
So many people are kind, supportive, and patient with everyone around them—but incredibly harsh with themselves. I have struggled with this myself.Â
Healing begins when we replace self-criticism with self-compassion.
That might mean:
allowing yourself to rest without guilt
forgiving yourself for mistakes
honoring your emotional needs
recognizing that growth takes time
Self-love isn’t selfish. It’s fundamental.
When you care for your own energy, you show up more fully for every part of your life.
Staying connected and open to others
Finding your people that truly care about you, that are there for you, to listen without judgement, to encourage you, is a great way to have the harder times seem easier, maybe just a little lighter. Connection with people is truly why we opened the store in the first place. We wanted a place where community turned into family and we found that!
And of course Animal Snuggles
(Belle is always down for snuggles if you don't have a fur baby at home)

Returning to Yourself
Your mental health journey doesn’t need to be perfect or linear.
Some days will feel peaceful and aligned.Others will feel messy and uncertain.
Both are part of the process.
What matters is that you keep returning to yourself—through stillness, through reflection, through the rituals that remind you who you are beneath the noise.
Your energy deserves care.
Your mind deserves compassion.
And your spirit deserves space to heal.
You are the most important person in your life.
Even if you have bury your head down for a minute and take a rest, that's okay! We are here to support you through your journey!
