June 29th is the Full Moon in Capricorn! Full Moons are powerful times of completion. They help us to reflect on what is no longer needed in our life and how we can move forward; refilled and redirected towards something new. This Full Moon in Capricorn is basically here to act like a mid-year audit to see how well your goals are going, where you need to rebalance with regards to your public and private life, as well as seeing what you feel inspired to move forward with. This is not about switching into hyper-productivity mode and it’s not about judging your life, it’s about giving yourself adequate space and permission to re-adjust and re-empower yourself to create the life that you want.
So how do you do that? Begin by taking an honest look at what is happening in your life. Remember that this isn’t to make you feel bad about yourself or create doubt, be sure to note all the positive changes that you’ve made as well. Here is a list of questions to kick off that exploration:
What goals did I have at the beginning of the year?
How well have I been accomplishing those goals?
Has something come up that has changed my path since I set those goals?
What would I want my goals to be now?
Where have I been self-sabotaging or putting myself last?
What have I done for myself that has improved my life and/or moved me towards my goals?
What feeling do I want to manifest for the rest of my year ?
What structure could I add into my life to make it easier?
What problem just needs a little willpower or persistence to overcome?
What boundaries do I need to set to protect my own energy and power?
With this Full Moon being in Capricorn, it’s important that you take a moment to address and understand your finances. This can look like seriously understanding where your money is going, how much you are actually making, and what wounds or patterns show up around your money.
Once you’ve taken this time to reflect, see what you are ready to release. This could be behaviors, old goals, negative thought patterns about yourself; anything that will help you create new possibilities in your life once it is released. This is an excellent place to put in a little ritual for your Full Moon. Do a burn and release, an energetic clearing of your body/space, or rip up and bury the list to give yourself a reset. After that, try writing out what you’d like to accomplish in the second half of the year. This allows you to open yourself up to manifesting and envisioning a new future that feels better aligned with the person you are right at this exact moment.
The Dos and Don'ts for the Full Moon in Capricorn
Dos
Bring the structure into your life where you have sorely been needing it.
Think regulating and automating what you can, creating spaces in your home that actually suit your needs vs what looks aesthetic, and taking the simplest yet most effective approach to fixing the immediate problems in your life.
Purchase with intention, not emotion.
We are in Cancer season and Mercury is retrograding for pretty much the entirety of this season in Cancer. You are probably going to want to emotionally stress shop or go out and treat yourself. This isn’t a bad thing, but it is good to just pause and see if this is truly something you want.
Recognize yourself for all the things you are doing well.
It can feel easy to think that audits and analysis are asking you to only look at the things that need adjustment or improvement in your life. Not true. It is equally important that you recognize where you have done well and give yourself the love, respect, and credit for all the improvements you’ve made so far.
Set boundaries around your time, emotions, and energy
Your time, energy, and emotions are valuable currency. If you are feeling an imbalance in how much you give vs receive, it’s time to take action and put boudaries up that help you to feel respected and seen.
Don’ts
Say yes out of obligation.
This is usually the type of actions that get you into feeling overcommitted and under appreciated. Let yourself take a beat to actually decide if you want to do the thing.
Leave things uncompleted
That thing that you have been putting off because it’s mentally overwhelming or too tedious. Just do the to-do list. you will feel better and taking actions like that during this lunation will amplify your power and give you more clarity.
Trigger into overworking or pushing yourself too far
This is not about pushing yourself beyond your limits, this is about finding balance and providing yourself a reality check. It’s not coming from a place of judgement, but out of a deep care for yourself and your life. The balance of Capricorn and Cancer is taking care of your external life and interests while also tending to your own internal emotional needs.
Shove your emotions down.
We are still in Cancer season and we’re in a Mercury retrograde. It’s hard and you have to allow this to be an emotional reset time. It is normal to have big, repressed emotions come up. It may feel uncomfortable for a time,
Another factor that really heavily influences this Full Moon (and Cancer season in general) is the fact that Mercury is stationing Retrograde today. If you want to know more about Mercury Retrogrades in general, we just posted a whole blog for you here. But essentially it means that for the rest of Cancer season and into the beginning of Leo season (it ends on July 23rd), communication and technology may try and stress test how well the systems you have around these hold up. This Mercury Retrograde is specifically in the sign of Cancer, which means that it is centering around our emotions and what hasn’t been said. It can be easy to push down emotions or not express how something makes you feel, but by doing so you are limiting the amount and the depth of connections you can have in your life. If you refuse to share and connect to others, yet maintain or hold space for all of their needs, you are literally breeding resentment long term (something that many Cancer placements know the feeling of). It’s important to do your best to communicate those things over the next few weeks, so it doesn’t come out loud, angry, or wrong because of this transit.
